On 23rd July, 2017, Mary Matha Church of Sakinaka, Mumbai, celebrated Youth day by bringing out the well- refined talents of the youth of the parish which mesmerized the parishioners.  The faithful dedicated the day especially for the youth from the beginning of the Holy Mass which commenced at 4:00p.m. Rev. Fr. George Vattamattam, the director of Kalyan Eparchy Youth, Fr. Sinto Pulikkottil, assistant director of Kalyan Eparchy Youth, was invited to make the day more graceful. The liturgical participations of the youth during the Holy Mass were remarkable. The offertory, the choir, Bible readings were all led by the Youth of the parish.

The Youth day programmes began around 6:00 p.m with the lightening of the lamp, by the invited dignitaries. Fr. Zacharias Neelamkavil, the parish priest of Mary Matha Church welcomed the dignitaries and the chief guest for the day Mr. Somnath Sangle, newly elected Shivsena corporator Chitra Sangle’s husband, who is a well- known politician. Fr. Sinto remarked in his speech that “I appreciate all the parents in the parish for letting your children follow the path of God and for inspiring them to be active in all the youth activities.” Further, he added, “And I request all the parents to help our youth grow in Faith”.

The main attractions of the event included comedy skit, semi-classical dance, western dance, biblical skit, fashion show, lyrical hip-hop which captured the hearts of the audience. Around 9:30 p.m, the program got winded up and the parishioners were given a lavish dinner after the program by the Youth.
