Kakkanad: The 75th birthday of Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the father and head of the Syro-Malabar Church, KCBC President, went on as usual with no celebrations. Cardinal Mar Alancheri aired the Shekina Channel of Holy Communion on New Year’s Day at Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad. Cardinal celebrated his birthday with a group of clergy and saints in the church ministry under the leadership of Syro Malabar Curia Bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal. Then Cardinal Alancheri cut the cake and called for a sick world. The Cardinal also said he would like to thank those who have given him a birthday greeting via phone and community media in the wake of the lockdown.
