Dibrugarh: A convent nun who reported several COVID cases in Dibrugarh, Assam, has died. Sister Michael Serovo, a member of St. Joseph Convent, died yesterday. She was eighty-two years old. St. Vincenta Giroza (VG) Hospital was earlier closed following the discovery that COVID had been infected to a group of twelve sisters in the Sisters of Maria Bambina community. Sister Michael was a member of this community.
The sister, who had been seeking treatment at the medical college since July 5, was returning to the convent from the hospital after failing a COVID test the previous day. Then came an unexpected death. Burial was in Mercy Home Cemetery on the day of her death. Born in 1937, Sister Michael Serovo was ordained in 1960. The sister had served as the Financial Administrator of the Diocese of Kohima in Nagaland.
