Anchorage: Jeff Bezos, the CEO and billionaire at Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company, is helping the Catholic charity in Alaska. Catholic Social Services in Anchorage, a charity organization, has told the media that Bezos’ $ 1 million fund will provide home to 300 homeless families using $ 50 million. Thirty-two organizations, including Catholic Social Services nationwide, support the Day 1 Family Fund.
Lisa Aquino, executive director of Catholic Social Services, said in a news release that the grant will be used to launch a pilot program to assist homeless families before they move into shelters. According to the press release, the organization is able to provide a home for 92 families in Anchorage, through a grant that extends the Catholic Social Services’ day-to-day operations to stabilize homeless families.
Jeff Bezos and his ex-wife started a financial aid program for homelessness organizations in 2018 with a $ 200 billion fund to tackle homelessness. One of the two categories of the project is focusing on homelessness and the second is on establishing pre-schools in backward communities. Last week, Bezos announced it would pay $ 50 million to build a home for the homeless in Spokane. At the same time, Bezos is reportedly giving financial support to Eastern Washington’s Catholic charities.
