To mark the first death anniversary of Fr. Stan Swamy, a Special mass and vigil are being organized on 5 July in London. The mass will be celebrated by Jesuit Fr. Dominic Robinson at Farm Street Church, Mayfair. at 1. 05 pm. The vigil will be led by Jesuit Fr. Jovito D’ Souza outside the Indian High Commission at 2. 15 pm.
A solitary walk from Farm Street to the Indian High Commission is also a part of the events for the day. Those taking part in the vigil are invited to bring posters, and banners mentioning the causes advocated by Fr. Swamy.
Fr. Stan Swamy had dedicated his life to the marginalized people, being a tribal rights activist. He died on 5 July 2021.
