The incident of another cross desecration has been reported in Chimbel village of North Goa. A Catholic cross installed in a remote area of the village was found damaged. This is the second desecration incident reported in the state in last three days.
As reported by ucanindia.in, a police spokesperson said, “We are in the process of questioning locals to see if someone was seen moving about in a suspicious manner but the exact time and date of desecration is not clear.”
The investigation team had arrested a 50-yr-old taxi driver for destroying crosses across the state for the last few years. The Catholics in the state have urged the police to have an in-depth investigation in this regard and have also requested the government to take a quick action against the increasing religious conflicts in the state.
