His Excellency Archbishop Peter Machado of Bangalore convened a meeting of Key Personnal from Pastoral, Educational and Development sectors of the Archdiocese to plan for the Relief to the affected people in Karnataka and Kerala due to the unprecedented rain and floods that caused hundreds of death and destruction. ‘The Bangalore Archdiocesan Flood Relief’ has been formed to help the flood affected people and a core team was constituted to plan and help implement activities in the collaboration with like-minded organizations.
As reported by the Archdiocese of Bangalore, His Grace Archbishop Machado remarked that “All of us in the Archdiocese express our solidarity with the people of Karnataka and Kerala and offer our deepest condolences to the family members of those who lost their lives and also consolation and strength to all those who are presently facing hardships due to these natural calamities.”
His Grace Archbishop Machado also urged the faithful in the Archdiocese to pray for the victims of this tragic natural calamity and asked to donate generously money and materials for those affected.
