Reflecting on the words of His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias of Bombay who called the young Catholics to step up to serve the country, a special event was organized by Take Charge in collaboration with the Archdiocesan Board of Education at Dr. Antonio da Silva High School in Dadar Suburb. The program included members of the Armed Forces giving first-hand testimonies, aiming to motivate the young hearts for a career in the defense services.
As reported by ucanindia.in, His Eminence Cardinal Gracias remarked that “The Catholic community must be in the forefront in participating in the development of our great country.” Organizers of the event said that they expect to have an increased participation of Catholic youth in key areas of nation building.
Over 400 students from the Archdiocesan schools in Mumbai and Vasai attended this special event, which is considered as an initiative focused on increasing the role of the Catholic community in the development and progress of the country by encouraging students and young men to choose career options with the Civil Services and Armed Forces. Major Gen. Ian Cardozo was the chief guest at the concluding gathering, chaired by His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias.
