The autobiography of Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil, Keralite Catholic priest who was rescued from the captivity of terrorists in Yemen, was released at the 33rd General Body Meeting of Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI). The book is published by “Kristu Jyoti Publications” of the Salesians of Bangalore and it narrates the life of Fr. Uzhunnalil from his childhood to his formation in the Salesian congregation, to his missionary work in Yemen. It conveys in detail his abduction.
His Eminence Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India and the Major Archbishop of Syro-Malankara Church, released “By Grace of God” at St John’s Medical College. His Eminence Cardinal Cleemis presented a copy of the book to His Beatitude Cardinal Telesphore Toppo, Archbishop of Ranchi, in the presence of His Eminence Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church and His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay.
The 33rd General Body Meeting of CBCI that began at the St John’s Medical College auditorium in Bengaluru on February 2 will conclude on 9th February, 2018.
