Kochi: Christians around the world celebrate the Passover with a view to renewing the memory of the Last Supper. Although there is no church service in the face of the spread of the Covenant, believers have made their homes part of the ministry through television and online. The bishops and clergy minister in the temples without any public participation. Washing the feet of the disciples by giving the world the example of humility, is not a good time for them to remember the sacrifice of Jesus. In the evening, the bread is served at home, commemorating Jesus’ eating of the Passover bread before being delivered to the Crucifixion.
The Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council had earlier directed that the bread cutting ceremony should be restricted to the household. The Passover at St. Mary’s Basilica in Ernakulam was led by Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry. The work of the Major Archbishop of Pattom at 8.30 am began. Services will be held at 5.30 pm at the Cathedral Church, Palayam. Services at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican will begin at 9.30 pm Indian time. The live broadcast of the event will be made available on the Prophet’s Facebook page.
