Adilabad: Mar Anthony Prince Panengadan, Bishop of Adilabad, Syro-Malabar Mission Diocese of Telangana, is stepping down directly to rebuild the home of a poor family that was destroyed by an unexpected fire. Recognizing the plight of the family, the bishop gathered the clergy directly to build the house. The footage of bishops and clergymen working on solid soil, despite the fire, has already received media attention.
Sankaraiah, a poor man and his family’s home in Bimaram village of Mcheriyal, which falls within the Adilabad diocese, was burnt to death by an electrical short circuit three days ago. The bishop, clergy and young people of the parish of Mamchery, began the construction of a new house yesterday when the house was completely burnt. Fr Shito, Fr.Johan, Fr.Gejo, and Brother Lino, the clergy of the diocese are also involved in the construction work.
The daily food service is already in place for the needy patients who visit government and private hospitals near Bishops House, which is located in the center of Manjriyal. It is interesting to note that Bishop Anthony Panengadan is also having lunch with them. The Diocese of Adilabad, which connects the poor and the neglected in Telangana, is bringing many people to Jesus through the Gospel of Mercy.
