Kannur: Bishop of Kannur, Mar Alex Vadakumthala, has been appointed as an employee at the call center started by the Kannur Corporation to provide essential commodities with the announcement of the Triple Lockdown. Due to the stringent regulations being imposed, the corporation has begun service on Thursday as food items are hard to come by. On the second day, he was one of five people assigned to phone attendance, volunteering there.
This experience at the call center was a bit of a chore. Bishop Alex says it was a new experience not only for himself but also for those who called him. Some people needed food and medicines. However, it was an opportunity for them to pray through their hearts and minds, through their words, Bishop Alex Vadakumthala said. Food kits have already been made available to many through Cairo, the diocese’s social services arm reveals. “We are planning to continue it as an urgent need,” he added.
