His Excellency Bishop Salvadore Lobo of Baruipur Diocese highlighted the significance to recognize and fight against the fake news in the society. His Grace Bishop Lobo was delivering his welcome note to the gathering on the second day of the National seminar of CBCI- OSC Secretaries & Diocesan Communication Directors, organized in Varanasi.

His Grace Bishop Lobo reminded the audience about their rights to respond positively against fake news. The Bishop also reflected on His Holiness Pope Francis’ message of “The Truth has set you free” and exhorted the listeners to stand strong for truthful messages. His Excellency Bishop Lobo urged the gathering to be alert to distinguish between what is truth and what is false. Fr. Suresh Mathew Pallivathukal, in his talk on ‘Fake news’, flashed light on the necessity to ‘reconnect and reinvent’ and asked the people to be aware and alert of fake news.

The main theme of the seminar that began on 12th March is “Reinvent Reconnect Reach out” and  the focus will be to light the rays on “Fake News v/s Good News. Unity in Diversity for a Mission of Mercy and Witness”.
