Thalassery police have filed a case against Captain Noble Pereira of Kottayam for editing and disseminating a picture of a nun. The case is under sections 509 and 294 of the IPC. The complaint was lodged by Sister Lucina, Thalassery Anti-liquor Coordinator. As part of the awareness campaign against the opening of liquor shops, the anti-liquor group, including Sister, has been posting ‘Do not open liquor stores, do not destroy the family.’
The petition has demanded legal action against Noble Perera, who has deliberately insulted and personally humiliated his monks and faith. Police have identified the ship’s crew. The complainant is preparing to take legal action against others who are spreading false news.
