Holy Father Pope Francis in his message to an International Catechetical Symposium, which is expected to take place at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, Buenos Aires, conveyed the significance of being a Catechist and highlighted the responsibilities in this vocation to work for the Lord Almighty through the services in Church.

The main subject of the message was “Blessed are those who believe.” As reported by the Vatican news, His Holiness emphasized that “Being a Catechist is a vocation of service in the Church that has been received as the gift from the Lord and must, in turn be transmitted.”  Further Holy Father observed that “A Catechist walks with Christ, therefore is not a person who starts from his own ideas and tastes.”

His Holiness concluded the message by reminding that “It is necessary to know how to change and adapt, in order to transmit God’s message even through the message itself is always the same.” Holy Father also encouraged the Catechist through his message by asking them to be joyful messengers, guardians of good and beauty who shine in the faithful life of the missionary disciple.
