Incessant torrential rains in several parts of Kerala had taken a heavy toll on life and property, with almost all the 14 districts of the state bearing the brunt of the flash floods. Catholic Churches in India are trying their best to help the government in building up Kerala back to its previous status and to help the people regain their lives and hopes.
Dioceses of Bhadravati, Thakkala, Mandya, Balthangadi, had sent a good number of clothes and food items for the flood affected Kerala. All the Catholic Churches of the Archdiocese of Shillong in Meghalaya have started collecting funds for Kerala and have assured their prayers and support for the state.
The Karunya Trust, social working wing of the Kalyan Diocese, has also come with an effective initiative to help the flood victims in Kerala by collecting funds from the faithful for this noble cause. Churches of the Kalyan Diocese in Mumbai had organized special adoration and prayer services for Kerala and has asked the faithful to collect funds for the suffering state Kerala.
