The body of a Catholic priest was found on a railway track on February 27 in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Father Jebin Maruthoor, a priest of Adilabad Syro-Malabar diocese, was going to Mumbai. According to the diocesan sources, the 33-year-old priest had boarded a 3rd Ac coach in the Anandvan Express at 8:45 pm on February 26 from Mancherial railway station.

The police found his body on the railway track near Babupeth railway station in Maharashtra state, some 140 km north of Mancherial. The police then informed the diocesan authorities. As reported by mattersindia.com, The diocesan officials said the cause of the death has not been confirmed. “We get the information after autopsy and investigation.”

After post mortem the body was taken to the Adilabad diocesan headquarters in Mancherial, a town in Telangana state. Fr. Maruthoor was a native of Udayagiri parish of Idukki diocese in Kerala. He was the principal of School of Excellence in Adilabad diocese.
