The Catholic Times of Korea and Holy Spirit Study Center of Hong Kong Diocese have signed a memorandum of understanding with an aim to boost evangelization efforts in Asia, especially in mainland China.  According to the memorandum signed, both the sources will exchange maximum information which will exhort evangelization in the continent. The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Eminence Cardinal John Tong Hon, director of the Center and Fr. Pius Yi Kisoo, the president of The Catholic Times.

As reported by ucanews.com, His Eminence Cardinal John remarked that “I hope that the institute’s research efforts will inform Korean Catholics to better understand the  church in China.” Fr. Pius highlighted that “The MoU will  be a meaningful step for both of us in our joint efforts on evangelization of Asia. The cooperation of the two institutions will create an amazing synergy effect regarding the evangelization of Asia, the most important pastoral concern of the Universal Church in the 21st century.”

The Holy Spirit Study Center is the leading Catholic institution on matters related to the church in China and it works for the formation of Chinese clergies. The Catholic Times of Korea is the oldest and most influential Catholic weekly in Korea.
