The Catholic immigrants in Gulf countries are facing continuous problems due to the conflict that has arisen between Riyadh and Doha, which broke out in June 2017.Qatar has been accused of supporting terrorism in the country and thus is considered as an isolated nation by other Arab countries. The situation is looked with fear of touching the normal Christian life and especially Catholic population by the serious dispute in these regions due to which the immigrants are fleeing from the country.

As reported by the Vatican News, Bishop Camillo Ballin, the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia remarked that  “Catholic Community in Qatar is made up of “economic migrants and laborers, largely from Asian countries, especially India , the Philippines, Bangladesh and Pakistan.” In daily life, there are still no visible effects of the crisis because Iran and Turkey are providing the country with all its needs.”

Many Catholics have already lost their jobs due to the crisis and their effect is seen in the labor market. “The Church in the country is unable to provide the needs of thousands of families but if there is no work in the country then the only alternative is to leave the country.” noted an Italian Bishop, as reported by the Vatican news.
