Catholics in central Vietnam Diocese celebrated 400th jubilee year and also dedicated the day to honor all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Lord Almighty. The faithful offered incense in front of an ancestor’s altar and watched cultural programs depicting struggles and hardships faced by Catholics during the diocese’ long history.
As reported by ucanews.com, His Excellency Bishop Mathews Nguyen Van Khoi of Qui Nhon remarked that “The anniversary event aimed to commemorate the merits of our ancestors who sacrificed their own lives and poured blood and sweat into evangelization work in the motherland of Qui Nhon.”
The diocese covers the three provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Quang Ngai and it is served by 124 priests and 280 nuns.
