Post-Beatification celebration of Blessed Rani Maria, an Indian Syro-Malabar professed religious and a social worker in the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) in the Diocese of Indore, who was martyred by those who opposed her efforts in helping the poor and the downtrodden, will be held in Kerala on 11th November, 2017. The celebration is expected to take place at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, Ernakulam. After 2:30 pm, the relic and the statue of Bl. Rani Maria would be carried from Major Archbishops House, Ernakulam, to St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, through a procession.
His Eminence Cardinal George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, will be the chief celebrant for the Thanksgiving Mass and KCBC President His Grace Archbishop Dr. M. Soosa Pakiam will give the holy message for the day. Nagpur Archbishop His Grace Dr. Abraham Viruthukulangara, Indore Bishop His Excellency Dr. Chacko Thottumarikal, Ernakulum-Angamaly Archdiocese auxiliary bishops Mar Sebastian Adayantharthu, Mar Jose Puthanveettil and many other Bishops from Kerala are expected for the event
A public meeting is arranged after the celebration in which CBCI President His Eminence Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis will give a vote of thanks and FCC Mother General Sr. Ann Joseph, Sr. Selmi (sister of Bl. Rani Maria) and other dignitaries from Udainagar, will address the gatherings. Documentary on Bl. Rani Maria would be shown at the event. FCC Nuns from Ernakulum- Angamaly Archdiocese are expected for the celebration. The event is organized under the guidance of Archdiocese Pro. Vicar General Msgr. Antony Narikulam. The beatification ceremony of Bl. Rani Maria was held in Indore on 4th November, 2017.
