Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the faithful gathered in the chapel of the Casa Santa Marta, on the feast of St. Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr, conveyed and reflected on the foolishness of those, who are unable to hear the Word of God, preferring appearances, idols and ideologies. His Holiness also explained that those Christians who sell themselves to ideologies have ceased to be Christians, often having rather become ideologies of Christianity.
As reported by en.radiovaticana.va, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “The fools do not know how to listen and this deafness leads to corruption and the Word of God does not enter, there is no place for love and in the end, there is no place for freedom.” Further, His Holiness added, “Thus, they become slaves, because they exchange “the truth of God with lies”, and worship creatures instead of the Creator.”
His Holiness concluded his homily by encouraging the faithful to stay away from foolishness and urged them to look on the Lord who is always at the door, who knocks and waits for his flock.
