Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Faithful from different Church denominations would attend the meeting that aims to promote unity and peace in the world. Representatives from the states of Brunei, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Indonesia would participate in the event organised by the multi-denominal group, The Pentecostal Nights. The meet is scheduled to take place on the 14th and 15th of September, 2019 at the Jubilee Sports Ground, Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak State of Malaysia.
As reports suggest, the majority of all Church communities have accepted the invite to the meet. The bishop of Kuching, His Excellency, Monsg. Simon Peter Po Ho Sengh urged the representatives of various denominations to proclaim the sanctity of the ‘Union of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit’. He also mentioned that the church, as one whole single body has to strive hard to grow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Msgr. Sengh, who happens to be the President of Sarawak Association of Churches as well, reminded that we, the christian community has to work together with peace, unity and a heart filled with love for our fellow brethren. Commenting on the invitation, the President of the Borneo Evangelical Mission, Rev. Fr. Justin Van said that the Pentecostal nights, is the best platform to cherish the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Responding to the invitation, the Anglican Bishop of Sarawak and Brunei, Rev. Fr. Donald Jewett expressed his happening on receiving great response from the anglican community. He deemed it as ‘heartening’ and termed them as ‘Enthusiastic Warriors’ for the Church, as a whole.
