His Excellency Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam of Arch eparchy of Changanassery, while addressing the faithful gathered at Assumption College, for the inauguration of Changanassery Archdiocese Pastoral Council- Presbyteral Council Golden Jubilee celebration, conveyed that the Church has always stood with the politics that served and helped the society for its betterment and thus is not politically biased .
As reported by syromalabarchurch.in, His Grace Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam remarked that “The faithful should be able to live according to the religious and social heritage of our country and the perspectives of the Church is not narrow-minded and thus the Church should take significant part to develop the society with more determination and broader viewpoints.”
His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, inaugurated the function. Auxiliary Bishop His Grace Mar Thomas Tharayil gave an introductory speech in the event and Dr. Rosamma Philip, Pastoral Council Secretary Dr. Anthony Mathews Kandangery, PRO Joji Chirayil, Assistant Secretary Jose Mathew Aanithottathil addressed the crowd.
