PM Narendra Modi honors Dr. Joseph Mar Thomas Metropolitan as a life dedicated to the welfare and service of the country. He spoke this while officially inaugurating the 90th Birthday celebration of the Metropolitan through a video conference. He also mentioned that the role of Church in the Health and Education sector of our country is commendable.

Oommen, Akiraman Kalidasa Bhattathiripad, Former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. P. JR. Kurian, Anto Antony MP, Mathew T. Thomas MLA, District Collector PB Noah, Church Secretary Rev. Fr. Dr. K. G. Joseph were present among others. The celebrations were held abiding by all the social distancing directives.
