Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square, on 13th August, 2017, conveyed the significance of being closer to God in order to understand and solve the difficulties that a faithful encounter in his life. His Holiness explained the importance of having faith in the plans of Lord Almighty and warned the pilgrims to not consult any fortune tellers and horoscopes to know about their future.
As reported by Catholic News Agency, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “When we do not cling to the Word of the Lord but consult horoscopes and fortune tellers, we begin to sink.” Further, His Holiness added, “Faith in the Lord and His Word does not open a path where everything is calm and easy; it does not take us away from the storms of life rather it gives us the security of a presence that pushes us to overcome the existential storms and the certainty of a hand that grabs us in order to help us in difficulties, showing the way even when it is dark.”
His Holiness concluded his message by warning the pilgrims to be faithful and prayed to Mother Mary to help everyone to stay firm in the faith in order to resist the storms of life and to stay on the boat of the Church overcoming all temptations.
