Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the faithful gathered for the catechesis on Holy Mass at his General Audience meet spoke on ‘Joy’, reminding that the Easter flowers speak about the joy and gladness. His Holiness Pope Francis concluded the cycle of catechesis on Holy Mass by highlighting the significance of the concluding rites of the Mass, the blessing and the dismissal that follow the concluding prayer.
As reported by Vatican Radio, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “The conclusion of the liturgy is not the end of our Christian life; rather, it is the beginning of our commitment to Christian witness. Christians don’t go to Mass to fulfill a weekly duty and then forget about it. Christians go to Mass to participate in the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord, and then live even more as Christians.” Further, His Holiness added, “The Mass should lead us to participate even more in the life of Christ, to act as Jesus did – and this is Christian sanctity.”
His Holiness Pope Francis concluded his remarks by emphasizing that “Bearing the treasure of union with Christ in earthen vessels, we stand constantly in need of returning to the holy altar, until at last, in paradise, we might tastefully of the beatitude of the wedding feast of the Lamb.”
