Yangon: Cardinal Charles Boehr, head of the Federation of Asian Catholic Bishops ‘Conference (FABC), has called on Lourdes’ mother to intercede in the daily death toll of coronavirus. In this regard, he wrote to the bishops of 26 countries in Asia. “We have to constantly pray for the protection of our mother and pray that her mother will extend her healing hand to us to control the coronavirus.” Cardinal Charles Bowe is presiding over the Yangon Archdiocese of Myanmar.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to coronavirus in China has crossed the 1,000 mark. Yesterday, apart from China, each death was reported in Hong Kong and the Philippines. According to official figures, 1011 people have died so far in China. 103 people died yesterday. The number of people affected by a coronavirus in the country is 42,300.
