Sharjah: Lebanese priest Fr. Yusuf Sami Yusuf was detected with COVID 19. He was pronounced dead at Ajman Sheikh Khalifa City Hospital at 5.14 pm yesterday. The Vicariate of Southern Arabia said in a press release that COVID and other health problems were the cause of his death.
He has been in treatment for the past 3 weeks. A member of the Capuchin Monastery, Fr. Yusuf Sami has been an active presence in the Gulf for the past 27 years. He always greeted believers with his own warm smile and was in charge of the spiritual services of believers in French and Arabic. He started his service in the Gulf States in 1993. He has served at St. Mary’s Church, Doha Our Lady of Rosary Church, Manama Sacred Heart Church, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Abu Dhabi and St. Mary’s Church in Al Ain.
