Turin: Five nuns die in Italy due to deadly infection The nuns of the Piedmont Little Missionary Sisters of Charity in Turin died Thursday. The deceased were aged between 82 and 98 years. Among the dead were Mother Superior. Thirteen nuns in the convent are still undergoing treatment. Many remain in isolation. Sixty nuns in two mosques outside of Rome had been recently diagnosed with the disease.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties in the country has exceeded 10,000, with 889 new deaths reported last day. Italy has reported 92,472 new cases. Although the number of people getting sick has declined, the mortality rate remains high. According to reports released last week by the Italian Bishops’ Conference, more than 60 clergymen have died following the outbreak.
