COVID 19 or simply the Coronavirus has clutched the world so tight, that every humane individual, despite differences in caste, color, creed, race, religion, gender or age; has unrealistically united in one common fear, the fear of death. However, the globe today has risen together in prayer and hope, while the virus is at no mercy of the lives being taken. On one end of the rope, many have succumbed to this deadly outbreak, while on the other end; the earth has ameliorated in terms of physical standards of living for men. In this context, it is arguable whether the COVID 19 pandemic is merely a curse, or does it have an element of boon to it?
Perishing lives cannot be justified by human conscience. However, the coronavirus has justified mankind by attempting to curb a further prolonged danger of a helpless nature. With countries locked down and industrial inactivity in almost all corners of the world, nature has taken on the time to pamper herself, though at the cost of thousands of lives.
Statistics prove that nature is recuperating from the centuries of tortures that the man-made pollutions and destructions had been laying on her. A certain report stated on the BBC suggests that pollution has plummeted while the carbon footprints have reduced to nearly 50% during the course of this pandemic. Though these statistics are bound to skyrocket days after the world gets into normalcy, in present times, it has resulted in cleaner air and lesser warm days around countries across the globe.
God created nature and all its beings before the birth of mankind. Surely, he intended the world to be a happy environment for the beings he created in his own image and likeness. Of late, nature, which took five days to be designed perfect for man by God, has been struggling with the fruits of our greed and impatience. Debiting the best and crediting nothing but trash into the nature was sure going to incur heavy discomfort on man, while he remains oblivious to it until he faces dire consequences. This would have endangered the health and immunity to comforts and necessities of the generations to come, in the form of climate change.
Job 12:7-10 says,”… Ask the plants of the earth and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who amongst all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hands are the life of every living thing and the breath of every human.” The outbreak is all part of man’s riddance of God’s Law of nature. With limited travel and industrial motion, planet Earth is healing gradually. Thus, the hour is here, when the children of God have to repent and atone for the evils committed towards nature, destroying it. It’s time, we all learn, understand and identify our actions, and clutch hope instead of despair, and act upon working towards a safe and better environment, for ourselves and the coming generations.
Maybe, the Coronavirus pandemic is a chance to redeem ourselves. Maybe, COVID 19 is not all about miseries, curses, and fear. Maybe, it’s God’s ultimate plan to a much safer tomorrow…
