Kochi: The CBCI Council Secretary has demanded that the cruelty of crucifying and imprisoning Christian missionaries who have selflessly served in the slums of India for the oppressed, poor and marginalized Adivasi, Dalit and backward communities should be questioned. Adv. V.C. Sebastian added that the denial of justice and abuse of power by those who do not study the history of Christian love and ministry is a stain on democratic India.
He lives for the adivasi, dalit and backward communities and suffers from old age diseases. The public in India must react against the arrest and imprisonment of Fr. Stan Swamy in a forgery case. He said he had been interrogated several times in connection with the Bhima Korogaon agitation and the Elgar Parishad conference.
Various community movements and leaders will participate under the slogan ‘Stand with Fr. Stan’. The CBCI Council will submit a petition to the President and the Prime Minister seeking the release of Fr. Stan Swamy from jail, Sebastian said.
