South-eastern Daegu Archdiocese in South Korea has held its first gathering for Sunday school students in which 1,200 young faithful participated to share their experiences about their faith. The Youth Ministry of the archdiocese held the Youth Apostle Gathering on November 18, 19, at the archdiocesan office in Daegu, where students from 89 parishes joined. His Excellency Auxiliary Bishop John Bosco Chang Shin-ho of Daegu presided over the closing Mass on November 19, 2017.
As reported by ucanews.com, His Grace Auxiliary Bishop Jon Bosco remarked that “Youth today should share the talents and answer calls from God to be ‘youth helping youth’ as young apostles of Christ.” The event was organized after youth leaders of parish Sunday schools shared their opinions. Activities in the event included theatrical plays, flea markets and street busking.
After the Holy Mass, 229 Sunday school teachers who have given long service to the youth ministry received citations from His Grace Bishop John Bosco.
