Today, the Diocese of Kalyan observes the 23rd day of the Extraordinary Month Of Mission in commemoration of Saint Joseph Vaz. Following the Papal Encyclical, the Catholic Church celebrated October 2019 as the month of extraordinary missionary activities and service.
The Pontiff, declares selfless service and zealous missionary activities are the envisioning of truthful evangelization. Today, when the world needs missionaries to work for those who don’t have a voice, let us make St. Joseph Vaz our role model and live a life similar to his. Following the footsteps of this Saint, who is regarded as one of the greatest oratorian priest and missionary in Ceylon, Now Sri Lanka, let us also fulfill our Evangelical duties by means of selfless service for humanity.
Just like the saint, who preached and brought the eucharist to clandestine groups of catholic in Sri Lanka, let us bring the eucharist, that is Jesus into the hearts of people around us. In this way, let us be beacons of missionary light to those who need the word of God.
