It is a reflection of purity.The Mother of God was taken up to heaven to be with her beloved son .It’s the reward of her dedication to her son, her eagerness to suffer for the will of God, her complete trust, and her total purity of heart.
Pope Pius XII taught that from all eternity God “regards Mary with a most favourable and unique affection. We should know that The Saviour desires to grant her every prayer. We are called, gifted and chosen to be with ‘Jesus’ through Mary.We have in our Mother a model of a perfect christian who exhorts us to follow Jesus and love Him.
Meditating on the life of Mary reminds us that God moves powerfully in our lives too if only we say an unconditional yes to His plans.Having suffered with Christ ,She was also glorified with Him.Her assumption assures us that we have a mother in heaven to strengthen us by her intercession and lead us to the eternal reward.
