“The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and all shall be fulfilled what the Lord spoke thru the prophet, who said, ‘God shall be called Emmanuel, who is with us”. (Matthew 1: 22-23).
The blessed daughter of Holy Saints Anne and Joachim, was named Mary. The name Mary means Lord, queen, queen of the sea ocean and so on. After the name of Jesus, there is no other name, as sweet as Mary.
All through her childhood Mary was filled with love for God. During the times many girl children lived in the Temples (Jewish Temples) until the age of adulthood. In the Temples they had the opportunities for their education and discipline of life. She was specially devoted to the prayers and religious practices according to Jewish customs.
Saints Little Theresa and St. Alphonsa during their childhood adopted Mother Mary as their mother. This has been depicted clearly in their life stories and today their life is a model for our life.
