Blessed Virgin Mary was a simple unlettered young lady. She wasn’t aware of the greatest honor a lady can have, by becoming the Mother of God. She accepted the will of God and her YES brought Jesus into this world.
She always wished to remain in the background without boasting about her unique role, which echoes a Christ-like simplicity. Mary, being the first and most perfect disciple of Jesus Christ in the practice of all virtues, was also the first in humility, and by which she merited to be exalted above all Creatures.
Imitation of Mary’s humility helps us to acknowledge our lowliness before God. Imitation of her Holy Will enables us to rely on God’s power to solve our problems. When we realize that everything in our life is given by God, we will not boast about our achievements but strive to please God by our actions.
The humility of Mary invites us to be simple and lovable.
