His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, while inaugurating ‘Sahrudaya Ability Fest’ urged the people gathered there to develop the culture of cooperation beyond religion and caste. ‘Sahrudaya Ability Fest’ is a fest organized by Ernakulam- Angamaly Archdiocese’s social working department Sahrudaya and St. Mary’s Forane Church. Thrippunithura. The fest included various competitions of differently abled people and also Mar George Alencherry visited the exhibition stalls at the venue in which things made by them were showcased.

His Lordship Cardinal Mar George Alencherry remarked that “The way we approach and treat differently abled people is all a reflection of the Gospel, the face of mercy and the spiritual activities of the Church.” Further, His Excellency added, “Everyone has their own disabilities and weaknesses but God has given solutions for every weakness and thus disability is not a weakness. Instead, it is an opportunity to glorify the Lord’s name and receive His blessings.”
