The Diocesan Teachers’ Day was held on 2nd October 2019 at St. Mary’s School, Versova. Catechism teachers from across the diocese attended the celebration. The day began with Bible retreat and followed by an adoration session led by Rev. Fr. Thomas Vallanmanal.
Succeeding the lunch, the crowd was gathered for public meeting after which the teachers was completed 5, 10 and 15 years of service were felicitated. The felicitation ceremony was also held to honor the scholarship examination awardees and the outgoing assistant director Rev. Fr. Jobymon Jose.
Teachers’ day celebration was also a platform to appreciate the efforts taken by the catechism units across the devices. In order to encourage them in their future activities, special prizes for 10 catechism units and also the best units among the three categories of the catechism department were honored during the event.
In the absence of His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elevanal, the event was graced by the Chancellor of the diocese, Rev. Fr. Justin Kallely and Catechism Department Director Rev. Fr. Biju Mannamcheril and Asst. Director. Rev. Fr. Danny Chittilapilly. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the latter.
