St. Joseph Mission Hospital, Mananthavady has decided to hand over the entirety of the thirty-two-bed block of the St. Joseph Mission Hospital to the functions of the District Hospital at Mananthavady. The decision was taken as a result of the convenience of the people who were being treated at the Mananthavady district hospital as a Kovid center. In addition to the thirty-two beds and other amenities, the Diocese has decided to comply with the request of the authorities, including the Lab, ICU, Operation Theater, OPs, Pharmacy, Nursing Station and Treatment Room.

The concerned persons have been informed that they will be willing to provide other facilities if the circumstances require. The Diocesan President has also suggested at an online meeting of the vicar of Forona last week that the diocesan institutions and parish facilities should be arranged according to the necessities of the society. Bishop Jose Posadam reminded that all the parishes and institutions of the diocese of Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram and Nilgiri districts of Tamil Nadu must comply with the instructions of Cardinal George Alencherry, President of KCBC and Head of the Syro Malabar Church on the transfer of institutions to Government institutions.
