Diocom 2019, in accord with the Diocesan Communion Day celebrated on 28th July, has rolled out it many parishes across the Eparchy of Kalyan. ‘Dio’ in Italian means God and ‘Com’ is deciphered as communicates. Through this endeavour, the Kalyan Media Cell promulgates the idea of being media missionaries with the goal of spreading the truth. This is an initiative undertaken by the young and vibrant volunteers, to increase the reachability of the diocesan Online News Portal, Catholic Focus.
With volunteers visiting individual parishes, Diocom 2019 was first conducted at St. Thomas Church, Kalina and St. Sebastian’s Church, Kalamboli on 28th July, followed by St. Mary’s Church, Malad East, St. Theresa’s Church, Bandra West, St. Bartholomew Church, Kalyan East and Sacred Heart Church, Bhayandar on 11th August. Speakers ranging from youth to older parishioners, spoke about the credibility of the Channel. The intention of all the speakers was to convey the essence of Catholic Focus’s motto i.e., ‘Inform To Transform’ amongst their respective crowd. As part of the day’s activity, the volunteers helped out the parishioners at each destination,
in installing the PWA version of the Mobile Application in their phones, by virtue of which, readers can get news and updates from the Catholic Focus news portal, even when they aren’t connected to the Internet.
