Rome: A new report reveals a sharp increase in attacks on churches and cemeteries across Europe compared to previous years. The 64-page report is a summary of the more than three hundred and twenty-three cases of intolerance and discrimination that European Christians faced last year. The report noted that this is a matter that needs to be taken very seriously and that an urgent public response is needed in this regard. The report cites examples, including the case of an Iranian national who converted to Islam and converted to Christianity and refused to apply for asylum in the UK.
Last year’s annual report on crimes released by the French government earlier this year showed that there were 1,063 anti-Christian activities. The number of attacks on Christian places of worship and worship has increased by 250% from 2008-2018. This year, we witnessed the destruction of Christian merchandising institutions, the arrest of street speakers, the silence of Christian student organizations and preachers on campus, and the violation of the immigrant rights of Christian immigrants, said Ellen Fantini, Director.
