The ADF militants, who are spreading terror in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, have tightened their grip on civilians by targeting for the first time in a year the city of Beni during two new massacres that have killed at least ten people. In total, at least 60 people were massacred, often with knives, in the Beni region (North Kivu) since the announcement in late October-early November of military operations of the Congolese army against the bases of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
