The department of Kalyan Catechism hosted Dream Big, the annual felicitation ceremony for all the SSC Toppers of 2016-17 on 8th July, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Forane Church, Powai. The event was attended by a total of 51 scholar kids who were accompanied by their parents/guardians. The department of Catechism; like the past years, had taken special care to cater to the needs of these bright brains and undertook all possible measures to provide them with the best of wisdom.
The event was graced by His Excellency Mar Thomas Elavanal, Prof. B. G. Fernandez (HOD-Elect. Engg; IIT Bombay), Mr. Biju Dominic (CEO-FinalMile Consulting) and Mrs. Bindu Joel (Dale Carnegie certified Master Trainer). Prof. B. G. Fernandez guided the students through various career options prevalent in today’s corporate society. While, Mr. Biju Dominic gave an insight into moulding oneself as a better human being. His talks emphasized on how one should constantly try to improve his/her personality in order to work efficiently. Mrs. Bindu Joel’s session focused on how one should strive hard to achieve one’s goals. She spoke about breaking the current stereotypes regarding the mainstream career options and how valuing and considering other possibilities are important.
His Excellency Mar Thomas Elavanal shared his views on how one should inculcate the values of humility and spirituality. He also emphasized on the habit of abiding by the word of God and the ways to spiritual nourishment. Excerpts from His Excellency’s interaction purely defines his happiness in felicitating the young geniuses and his desire to see them flourish in life emotionally and spiritually in union with their fellow comrades. All the toppers were presented a memento of appreciation, which till the end, will remark their dedication towards their studies and will indicate how successful they have turned out in fulfilling their responsibilities. The day concluded on an exhilarating note where the young scholars left with a desire to achieve and inspire.
