Bengaluru: The CBCI Plenary Conference held that Christ had consulted with all nations during his time and should engage in genuine fraternal dialogue with one another. The third day of the program commenced at 6.30 am with the sacrificial ceremony under the patronage of Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry. During the subsequent business sessions, the office bearers of the Catholic Council of India presented various reports for the period 2018-2020. She also appealed to the bishops to ensure empowerment through parochial pastoral structures to ensure proper representation of the laity at the diocese and local levels. They also proposed action plans to promote interfaith dialogue at the grassroots level, followed by a visit by St. John’s Medical College Director, Rev. Dr. Paul Rockstar presented biennial report.
CBCI members hailed the activities of the medical college. Executive Director, Caritas India presented the report. Paul Moohaneli pointed out that Caritas India has come forward to uplift the lives of the underprivileged through various philanthropic activities. About 200 dioceses, retired bishops and office bearers of various CBCI commissions are participating in the 174 dioceses of the Latin, Syro-Malabar and Syro-Malankara Rites.
