The Eparchy of Kalyan celebrated Patron’s Day with grace on 30th June, 2018, at Animation & Renewal Centre Auditorium, Panvel. The day is observed as the Feast of His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal of Kalyan, by the faithful. The function began at 8:30 am with special personal greetings to the Bishop followed by the Holy Mass in which Mar Thomas Elavanal was the main celebrant and Msgr. Emmanuel Kadankavil, V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Cheriampanattu MST, V. Rev Fr. Sheejan Thomas CMI, Rev. Fr. Joseph Srambickal VC, V. Rev. Fr. Varghese Puramchirayil, Rev. Fr. Bibil Punnackathadathil, were the concelebrants.
After a soup break, a public meeting was held and attended by Mar Thomas Elvanal, Msgr. Emmanuel Kadankavil, V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Srambickal VC, V. Rev. Fr. Shaji Parickapallil, V. Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Kalaparambath, V. Rev. Fr. Jaison Vadakethala and the jubilarians. Msgr. Emmanuel Kadankavil offered the welcome speech in the meeting. Mar Thomas Elavanal felicitated the new Syncellus V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Srambickal VC and also the jubilarians. During the meeting, the website of Kalyan Media Cell (KMC), the media wing of the Eparchy of Kalyan, was launched.
His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal offered his presidential address after which floral welcome and self-introduction of the new priests and sisters of the Eparchy was held. The Vote of Thanks was given by V. Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Kalaparamabath. The meeting was concluded with Angelus and prayer before meals by His Grace Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal.
