The Eparchy of Sagar is all set to welcome their new Bishop Mar James Athikalam whose Episcopal ordination will be held on 17th April 2018. The ordination ceremony will begin at 9:30 am at Sagar St. Theresa’s Cathedral for which His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church will be the chief-celebrant. Changanassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam and Bishop Mar Antony Chirayath of Sagar Diocese will be the co-celebrants in the services.
This ecclesiastical provision of the new appointment of Mar James Athikalam was made public in Rome on Friday, 12th January 2018, at noon local time, corresponding to 16:30 hours, Indian Standard Time.
