His Excellency Bishop Mar Raphael Thattil of the Eparchy of Shamshabad have asked the faithful of the diocese to observe 23rd March, 2018, as the day of prayer and Fasting for the peace of the Church. In his pastoral letter, His Grace Bishop Thattil highlighted about the present heartbreaking and confusing circumstances of the Church and urged the faithful to remember the Church and her ministries in prayers.
In his circular, His Grace Bishop Mar Raphael Thattil remarked that “We, as individuals, families and communities, shall do our best by kneeling before God through prayers, fasting and penance. I exhort you all to observe on 23rd March, 2018, the 40th Friday of Great Fast, as the day of prayer, fasting and penance in our diocese for the intentions of the Church.”
His Excellency Bishop Mar Raphael Thattil concluded his circular by emphasizing that “Having heard the prayers and seen the penances of the people of Nineveh, God had forgiven their offenses. We pray that the same Lord show mercy to us, forgive our sins and grand our Church peace and unity.”
