The faithful in Athirappuzha, Kerala, fought against the persecutors who tried to create conflicts amid the feast of St. Sebastian celebrated by St. Mary’s Forane Church. Hundreds of people came together in a rally which was conducted after the feast services, to raise their voice against this incidence.
As reported by catholicvox.com, Fr. Cyriac Kottayil remarked that “There should be no problems and disturbances in the peaceful atmosphere in Athirappuzha henceforth. The main intention of the rally was to express the disappointments and difficulties of the people.”
Vicar Fr. Cyriac Kottayil led the rally with the help and presence of Assistant vicars, Fr. Jerin Thottakkattukalayil, Fr. Justin Vanchikkal, Fr. Thomas Kanjirathummootti, Sunny Thekkumkattil, Jacob Thalayanakuzhi, Sebastian Markose, Johny Thekkedath, Parish Council Secretary Sunny Onamkulam.
