Kochi: A Facebook video of a youth campaign against a special school has been found to be fake. The Truth of the Campaign for the Rehabilitation Center and Special School at Cherthala, have been exposed through social media. The young man has now come to the scene with apologies and a willingness to withdraw the post.
He made the video depicting a 16-year-old student with autism who is in the school for ten years. In the video, the child was assaulted at school, and part of her body was injured. In the video, the young man alleged that the child lost a tooth due to the brutal beatings that took place last week. Social media writer and writer Nisha Jose and journalist Vinod Nellikal exposed the lies in the video campaign titled ‘Knowing the lies of the good trees’. Nisha Jose has been corroborating evidence, including medical certificates.
Self-injury and injuries on head and shoulders, biting hands and fingers, hair pulling, beating on one’s face and head; all seems to be a part of the disability of the child. Earlier, the same man posted another video on Facebook asking for financial aid for the child, saying that the girl had not been to school for a long time. It was removed following objections. In the last 10 years, the child has been absent from school for only a few days. The police arrived at the scene following the release of the video of the young man and sent a report on the company.
In addition to the video, Nisha Jose also noted that the video was also aimed at raising money from the school. Former chairman of the KCBC Bible Commission, Rev. Fr. Dr. Joshy Mayyattil and School Principal Sister Dolly told Deepika that she would like to thank the clergy and the faithful who have tried to bring out the truth in the high propaganda campaign against Assisi School. The Sister said that further action would be taken in consultation with the church authorities.
